“We visited this place many years ago it was bought out from the National Shire horse Center Group and ran independent for a few years but the owners didn’t want to carry on with it and decided to close down and submit plans to build new housing which never got permission. “
Part of the National Shire Horse Center UK Plymouth Shire horse Center Opened in 1978 This was a major tourist attraction within the South Hams with over 400,000 visitors per year using the facility during its peak years.
The SHC closed in 2000 and was used for various purposes including air-soft and the film Holy Water was filmed here as well.
More recently the site has been taken over and is being used in the hope of reviving the Shire Horse Center as a Tourist Attraction again
